- The Dreibein 40, introduced on March 15, 1943, was a simplified version of the Dreibein 34, made exclusively of steel.
- This steel tripod seems very fragile, but it proved to be sufficiently robust. No date has been found on these AA tripods.
- The Dreibein 34 and Dreibein 40 tripods were rendered obsolete by the Heereswaffenamt on April 3, 1944.
