Rare .44 caliber 6-shot percussion revolver manufactured by Rogers & Spencer Utica N.Y. 1863 from the American Civil War period.
Top band marked ROGERS & SPENCER / UTICA N.Y.
All the same Serial Number 5## (5000 made) marked on the underside of the barrel, cylinder, frame, grip band and inside of the grips.
The grip is stamped with Civil War period inspector markings, RPB inspector cartouche marked on left grip panel, inspector letter stamped B on barrel, frame, hammer, trigger guard, loading lever and hammer case hardened,
Complete, working mechanism with no play, retains traces of its original blued finish.
The 7.5” octagonal barrel is still well scratched.
The walnut grips have a few small wood chips at the base, with some light reworking.
