The P08/14 "Long" (Artillery) Luger pistol was adopted by the German military on July 3, 1913.

The DWM (Deutsch Waffen Munition) firm produced them from 1914 to 1918, and the 42xx dates from early 1917.

The magazine has a different number (39##), while all other parts correspond to the weapon number (42##).

The trigger is an "unmodified" model (the gun cannot be cocked with the safety on).

The front sight and rear sight are adjustable by micrometer screw, while the rear sight is adjustable by moving a slider on a blade graduated from 100 to 800 meters.

When the slider is moved forward, the rear sight automatically shifts to the left as it rises, to compensate for the effect of bullet drift induced by barrel rifling.

This gun is therefore part of the very first production run.

The gun is delivered with a planchette (without number) and leather holster that fits perfectly. The leather sheath and wooden planchette look more like copies made in India.
