This pistol was made famous by Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry's film “SUDDEN IMPACT”, after he lost his S&W Model 29.

In 1970, Auto Mag Corporation president Harry Sanford opened a factory in Pasadena, California.

The first pistol was shipped on August 8, 1971, and the company filed for bankruptcy on May 3, 1972, having manufactured less than 3,000 pistols.

The company opened and closed several times from 1973 to 1982 under different names, and fewer than 9,000 of these handguns were produced, as the cost of production was too high to be profitable.

- The 44 Auto Mag was designed to fire 240-grain, 0.429” diameter bullets at the same velocity as the .44 Magnum revolver.

- The Auto Mag short-recoil pistol features a rotating breech with front locking lugs.

- It is truly an incredible piece of American firearms history.

- At the time, it was the only pistol of its type.

Now you have the opportunity to own one of the few Auto Mag pistols ever made.

It's so remarkable and collectible that it's on the Federal Curio and Relics List.
