Factory No. 536 Tula and Factory No. 74 Izhevsk produced the sniper rifle with PU scope from 1942 to 1944 (no other WW2 production outside these three years).

Total production per year for Tula (Plant No. 536) :

1942 = 2,020 rifles.

1943 = 59,112 rifles.

1944 = Total production unknown, planned production was 22'000.

Total production per year for Izhevsk (Plant no. 74):

1942 = 12,728 rifles.

1943 = 159,600 rifles.

1944 = Total production unknown, planned production was 133,000.

When production of sniper rifles with PU scopes began, only one factory produced PU scopes - factory no. 357 in Omsk.

The Tula and Izhevsk plants used PU scopes from this manufacturer's current production.

There were a total of five factories that produced PU scopes, but it was factory no. 357, officially known as Progress (producer of PEM scopes), that produced the majority.

PU eyewear production totals by factory :

from 1940 to 1942 = 25,961 PU at plant no. 3 and 296 in Kharkov / Bersk.

from 1940 to 1945 = 315,383 PU at plant no. 357 in Leningrad / Omsk.

from 1943 to 1944 = 39,007 PU at plant no. 237 in Kazan.

from 1943 to 1944 = 91,617 PU at plant no. 297 in Yoshar-Ola.

from 1943 to 1944 = 80,591 PU at plant no. 393 in Krasnogorsk.

In February 1941, Kharkov Plant No. 3 was renamed Plant No. 296.

Despite being the developer, Plant No. 3/296 produced only around 5% of the total PU glasses.
