In this extremely rare work, the author not only describes the weapon itself, its development, types, variants, manufacturers and ammunition, but also explains in detail that, as early as the end of the First World War, armament requirements had been defined.

The requirements later met by the MP 44 were defined within the Reichswehr during the Second World War.

But the AK-47, the M-16, the MP 43 and the K98k are also mentioned.
