With “Ordonance Department inspection” control stamp from mid-1942.
With “G.H.D” stamp from Brig. Gen. Guy H. Drewry (head of the Springfield Ordnance district 1942-45).
The barrel bears the inscription “COLT 45 AUTO”.
The military mark “P” is stamped on the grip (near the magazine release button) and on the barrel.

The “Post WW2” breech carries the mark ‘G’ for “Government contract order” on the inside and a “5-pointed star” on the rear under the slide hammer retainer plate, with the distinctive style of mark engraved on the slide that was used from 1949 to 1955.
With original two-tone magazine.
