- New
Browning 10-22 Pistol / Pistole 626(b)
Production under German occupation – Waffenamt WaA140
.
Manufactured by Fabrique Nationale (FN) in Herstal.
- Serial number: 159##a – all parts matching
- “a” series = early production block, manufactured ≈ mid-1941
- Caliber: 7.65 mm Browning (.32 ACP) – 9-round magazine
.
Supplied with its brown leather military holster for Pistole 37(u) – Germany, 1942
- The holster bears the marking “jsd 1942” and the WaA21 inspection stamp, corresponding to the manufacturer Karl Böcker Lederwarenfabrik, Waldbröl (Rhineland, Germany).
- Inside the pouch appears the inscription:
“Nur für Pistole 37(u) (7,65) Kal.”
Although the holster was intended for the 37(u), it remains historically plausible with the FN 1922 :
- similar dimensions between the two pistols
- frequent reuse of holsters during the war
- equipment often mixed within military units
This set therefore corresponds well to early-1940s Wehrmacht equipment :
- pistol: ≈ 1941
- holster: 1942
.
Very nice and coherent Wehrmacht regulation set, period 1941–1942.
Authentic set, 100% period – WWII.
Collector piece.
History :
With serial number 159##a, this pistol is likely among the first ~15,000–20,000 FN 1922 pistols delivered to the German army after the occupation of Belgium.
Production of the FN 1922 under German control :
- late 1940 / early 1941 – September 1944, when the FN Herstal factory was liberated by Allied forces.
The FN 1922 was one of the most widely used foreign pistols by the German army, with more than 300,000 examples produced under occupation.
