Developed in the late 1930s for the British Tank Corps, the 2-star model appeared in 1942, a further simplified version born of the war, but lacking hammer safety and distinguished by its inability to fire in single action only, and its hammer does not have a crest.
The new hammer had been requested by the Tank Corps Command, and this 2nd model also featured lighter springs and new black bakelite stock plates.
In 1945, the revolvers produced were converted to No.2 Mark 1*.
